RICHMOND DIALOGUE GROUP
RDG provides training, facilitation and
educational experiences of meaningful dialogue
for our community.
Tuesday, June 30th 6:45 - 9:15 PM (arrive by 6:30 PM to register)
Introduction to Dialogue Facilitator Skills*
with Trainers Jacquelyn Pogue, Denise Dolan and Susan Nolan
All are welcome. Appropriate as a review or practice session for previous
participants.
Begin to learn an expanded adaptation of the "Conversation Cafe" model to become
a host for community dialogues. See www.ConversationCafe.org to learn more about
this dialogue model.
These skills can be used for:
> Innovative meetings and meaningful discussions for relationships, community,
business and educational settings
> Racial reconciliation
> Interfaith and cultural understanding
> Civic engagement/citizen participation
> Environmental awareness

of Muslim Spain. Its rise and fall was due in
large part to the rise and fall of tolerance
among its Christian, Muslim, and Jewish
inhabitants. As we stand at a crossroads of
history today, it is a story with much to say
about the dangers of a clash of civilizations.

The Richmond Dialogue Group
has the opportunity to introduce Dialogue
Facilitation to students on:
"Global Ethics and World Religions", VCU
Tuesday, Feb.
17 (70 students)and Thursday, Feb. 19 (90 students)
with Denise
Dolan and Jacquelyn Pogue as presenters
We are asking
for your support.
Volunteer facilitators are required to first give
the students an experience of dialogue and then
discuss the structure and process.
8 volunteer facilitators are
required for Tuesday
and
11 volunteer facilitators for
Thursday.
Volunteer facilitators will conduct a reading
related to the morality of exporting democracy to
the middle east (which the students will have read).
Arrival time for volunteer facilitators is 6:30 PM
and actual class time: 7 PM - 9:40 PM
While you have experienced the first Conversation
Cafe training at PBS, ongoing training is required
to be considered a Richmond Dialogue Group
facilitator and this is an opportunity to practice
facilitating dialogues as part of this training.
